Woman arrested for drunk driving with four children in car on I-94 in Kenosha County

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 24-year-old woman was arrested for driving drunk with four children in the vehicle under the age of 16 around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.

Dandrea Marie Ellison was stopped by a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper for going 20 over the speed limit on Interstate 94 in Kenosha County. Officials say four unrestrained children under the age of 16 were in the vehicle. Officers say a strong odor of marijuana was present along with an open container of vodka.

Ellison was arrested for operating while intoxicated and transported to a local hospital for a blood draw. She was later held at the Kenosha County jail to post bond.

Police say Ellison was also cited for speed, operating without insurance, keeping open intoxicants in a vehicle, and operating while suspended.

An adult passenger was the mother of the children and was cited for four violations of child safety restraints.
