Woman, 19, killed in rollover crash on I-43 at Moorland

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 19-year-old woman was killed in a rollover crash on Saturday afternoon.

It happened at 1:22 p.m. near I-43 at Moorland.

Upon arrival, rescue crews found one car heavily damaged in the northbound lanes of I-43 just south of Moorland Road.

The sole occupant of the car, a 19-year-old Town of Vernon woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The initial investigation revealed that the woman was traveling southbound on I-43 at Moorland Road when she lost control of her car while attempting to change lanes and pass another vehicle. The investigation revealed that the woman then drove into the median and rolled over twice before coming to rest partially in the left lane of northbound I-43.

No other vehicles were struck.

Speed may have been a factor, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office confirms.
