Wisconsin surpasses 5,000 COVID-19 deaths

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin’s COVID-19 death toll has now topped 5,000.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced Wednesday, Jan. 6, 5,039 people have died in the state from the virus.

It was Nov. 21, 2020, when DHS reported the state reached just over 3,000 deaths.
