Wisconsin State Patrol trooper passes away due to complications from COVID

WAUSHARA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper has passed away due to complications from COVID-19. 

According to a post from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT), 42-year-old Master Trooper Dan Stainbrook was a 20-year veteran of the Wisconsin State Patrol assigned to the North Central Region, working primarily in Waushara County. 

The post says in part:

"We are deeply saddened to lose a member of our team and we ask you all to keep his family in your thoughts during this difficult time... Master Trooper Stainbrook was committed to public safety, serving as an instructor for sworn personnel across the division. He was a dedicated officer and will be missed by many."
