Wisconsin Senator Rescues Woman with Brain Aneurysm

Senator Leah Vukmir steps in after someone suffered a serious medical emergency during a committee session this week.

Senator Vukmir is also a nurse.

She witnessed a woman waiting to testify at the hearing get up suddenly and rush out holding her head.

She stepped in to help. Vukmir questioned the woman about her condition and quickly realized she was having a brain aneurysm and called 9-1-1

“This is what nurses do, we are trained to react to these situations. Through all my years of working as a nurse, I was just glad I was able to be at the right place at the right time," said Vukmir.

Vukmir said she plans to visit the woman in the hospital.

After helping out she went back to the session for business as usual.
