St. Camillus residents show patriotic spirit during annual parade
(CBS 58) -- Spooky season in Wisconsin means trying to grow the largest pumpkin possible!
Gourds were on display over the weekend for a weigh off in northern Wisconsin.
It is part of the Wisconsin Giant Pumpkin Growers annual contest.
So how do these pumpkins get so plump?
One of the pumpkin pros says it is all about pollination.
"They do require a lot of care," Glen Martin said. "Pumpkin roots in at every leaf. So people say, how do they get all this big? They got a root in all the time, and we figured out how to do that okay."
These growers usually get pumpkins that weigh between 1,300 and 1,700 pounds!
