Wisconsin man arrested for OWI after crashing car into tree Christmas Day injuring 97-year-old passenger

YORKVILLE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- On Christmas Day, December 25, just after noon Racine County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a car crash near County Highway A and 63rd Drive in Yorkville after a car hit a tree.

The 55-year-old driver of the car and his 97-year-old passenger both suffered injuries to their face and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

While at the hospital Deputies learned that the 97-year-old man had broken bones and other significant injuries. The driver refused treatment of his wounds and admitted that he had a revoked license and had ignition interlock requirements.

Deputies arrested the driver, identified as William Schafer, for his 3rd OWI.
