Wisconsin Lottery to implement new tool supporting state's Prince Act for missing children

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Lottery has announced plans to implement a new tool to support the state's Prince Act.

Governor Evers signed the act in April, creating a state alert system for missing children that don't meet federal criteria for Amber Alerts.

Wisconsin Lottery says they're developing a new missing child alert announcement that will be featured on all lottery retailer terminals across the state beginning in August.

According to a press release, the announcement will contain "descriptive information about missing children and contact information for citizens to connect with the appropriate law enforcement agency."

Whenever an alert is initiated, the announcement will be seen at more than 3,700 lottery retail locations.

"Something important we can do to help is to be another set of eyes for our law enforcement agencies across the state," said Wisconsin Lottery Director Cindy Polzin.
