Wisconsin gas prices climb above $4 as drivers feel pain at the pump

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) — Gas prices continue to climb across Wisconsin, with the statewide average for regular gasoline now above $4 per gallon.

According to AAA, Wisconsin's average price for regular gas is $4.11 per gallon, up from $4.09 on Tuesday and $3.97 one week ago.

Milwaukee remains below the statewide average, with regular gas averaging $4.04 per gallon. That's up from $3.99 on Tuesday and $3.87 a week ago.

The national average stands at $4.37 per gallon, keeping Wisconsin below the nationwide mark despite the recent surge in prices.

Diesel prices have risen even more sharply.

Wisconsin's average price for diesel is $6.13 per gallon, up from $6.10 on Tuesday and $5.75 one week ago.

In Milwaukee, diesel is averaging $6.07 per gallon, compared with $6.06 on Tuesday and $5.70 a week ago.
