WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The owners of a popular haunted house in Waukesha is getting ready for their final season of giving people goosebumps.
The Wisconsin Fear Grounds is closing after 17 years of business, and the couple running the grounds is making their last year scarier than ever.
"When an actor scares you, we call that a hit," said co-owner Timothy 'Timmer' Gavinski.
The couple has been running the haunted house for 17 years, but say now the time has come for them to retire.
"We really didn't want it to end, but this is a young man's game," Timmer said.
The couple says it takes them all year to plan and prepare for new spooks, but they've enjoyed giving people the chills for nearly two decades together.
"How many couples can say that not only are they married and they play together, but we actually work together," said co-owner Ann Marie Gavinski. "We've made it work and built this into an amazing success."
Now they're looking forward to passing the torch on to new owners.
"To tell you the truth, I don't think it's hit me yet, otherwise I"d be balling," Timmer said. "No one wants to see that."
But they do want to see people terrified for one last season.
