MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — The Wisconsin Center reopened on Monday, June 29 for employees.

Staff is preparing for the Democratic National Convention taking place August 17-20.

There are several precautions in place at the Wisconsin Center.

As employees and others enter the building, they are asked to socially distance before undergoing a health screening.

During the screening visitors and employees have their temperatures taken and are asked questions about how they have been feeling in recent days.

If someone has a temperature above 100.4 degrees, they are asked to wait 10 minutes to be tested again. If their temperature remains high, they are asked to go home.

The building is undergoing constant cleaning. Leaders said it is important for employees to be together while preparing for the DNC.

"We’ve been able to work remotely, but as we’re getting closer to the DNC, being able to respond quickly with information and being able to coordinate the event, being in the same facility is going to be very advantageous for us to respond the way we need to," Wisconsin Center District President/CEO Marty Brooks said.

The DNC will take over the building on July 26.
