Wisconsin Boy, 15, Charged with Stabbing Grandma 5 Times

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) -- A Wausau teen accused of stabbing his grandma and stealing her car was charged Monday with attempted homicide, operating a motor vehicle without consent and theft.

Dylan Carver remains in custody on $100,000 cash bond.

Plover police said the woman was stabbed five times July 13 around 7 p.m. on Haga Drive. The suspect, Dylan Carver, 15, was arrested the next day in Wausau.

According to court documents, the woman was stabbed in the back with what was described as a folding knife with a three inch blade. The woman was initially transported for life threatening wounds. The woman said the alleged attack was unprovoked as they had been previously talking about butterflies outside the window.

Portage County District Attorney Louis Molespke requested a high cash bond during Carver's probable cause hearing July 15.

Molespke said the victim asked Carver to call paramedics and allegedly handed Carver a cell phone. Prosecutors said that cell phone was found smashed in the drive way. The woman went to a neighbor's for help.
