MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Choosing a trustworthy general contractor is crucial for home renovation projects. Hiring the right professional can prevent issues such as unfinished work or contract disputes.
Andy Ketchum of the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau joined us to chat about some tips on Monday, March 3.
He emphasized researching a contractor’s background using the BBB Business Directory, which provides verified reviews and complaint records. Checking for proper licensing, training and references can also help.
Reviewing past work through photos, videos and client testimonials offers insight into a contractor’s quality, according to the BBB, and while comparing multiple bids might help ensure fair pricing, the lowest offer may not always be the best choice.
