Wintry mix, wind are what we have to deal with before a beautiful weekend

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--If you love your weekends and nice spring weather, you're going to enjoy what's coming Saturday and Sunday.  But first things first.  We're dealing with low pressure south and west of us today, providing mainly rain into the afternoon across the metro but mixed with snow north and west of Milwaukee and Waukesha.  In fact a few heavy wet inches of snow can't be ruled out through tonight.  In terms of rainfall, more than a half inch of precip could fall.  Keep in mind, the more rain we have, the less snow we'll get.

After today, we have to deal with lots of wind on Thursday into early Friday.  Northeasterly wind gusts of more than 50 mph are possible.  They should subside on Friday.

Then the weather gets a whole lot better for the weekend.  50s on Saturday, 60s Sunday.  Spring starts at 4:37 am Saturday.  A not a minute too soon.

Next week looks wet at times with mild air in place.
