'Winter Wonders' at Boerner Botanical Gardens is bigger and brighter for 2021

NOW: ’Winter Wonders’ at Boerner Botanical Gardens is bigger and brighter for 2021

HALES CORNERS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A holiday tradition continues at the Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners. Winter Wonders kicks off Friday, Nov. 12, as part of a sneak preview weekend. Shirley Walczak, the director for the Boerner Botanical Gardens, joined CBS 58 to share more about it.

More on the event can be found below:

A COVID-Safe Event: All displays are viewed from the safety and comfort of the family vehicle. Online ticket purchase, all ticket scanning, and even the delivery of holiday gifts are touchless/no contact.

NEW Holiday Light Displays: In addition to popular displays of snowmen, Santas, color washes on the trees of the Arboretum, and dramatic lighting, the show includes new displays, including two non-traditional light tunnels, 16-foot-tall animated trees, and a variety of computer-controlled displays—all brought to life by more than one million LED lights.

NEW Drive-By Santa Visit: Cars enter a ring where all displays feature Santa. Upon nearing the end of the loop, guests see the Jolly Elf himself, in his living room. He’ll have a special message for all who visit. First come, first served.

Location/1.4 Mile Drive-Through Route: Vehicles enter at Whitnall Park Golf Course, 6751 S. 92nd St., form a line, tune in to listen to holiday music, then follow the 1.4-mile drive-through route in the area surrounding Boerner Botanical Arboretum and Whitnall Park. No person (or family pet!) may leave the vehicle while on the show route.
