MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Officials from Wisconsin's Department of Health Services (DHS) are encouraging residents to get their next round of vaccines.
COVID-19 and flu shots are becoming more available across the state, as these viruses tend to thrive in cold temperatures.
Respiratory Disease Epidemiologist Tom Haupt spoke on why these updated vaccines can act as a shield against these nasty viruses.
"The protection provided by these can be the difference between having no illness at all," said Haupt. "To short illness and preventing, but the main purpose is to prevent serious illness that could lead to hospitalizations and even death."
