Winning $3.5 million Megabucks ticket sold in Oak Creek

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Oak Creek has a big winner!

A winning $3.5 million Megabucks ticket was sold by Discount Smokes and Spirits near Rawson and Pennsylvania for the Feb. 8 drawing.

"We're so happy to sell a jackpot winner. Nothing like this has ever happened to us. We've never sold a winning ticket of more than $1,000," said Yash Patel, owner of the Discount Smokes and Spirits.

Megabucks is only offered in Wisconsin and is one of the longest running lottery games in Wisconsin. The Megabucks jackpot was won four times in 2023. It is the first jackpot winner of 2024.

The last Megabucks jackpot was hit in Sept. 2023, with a winning of 2.8 million in Fond du Lac.

The next drawing is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10.
