Wind picks back up Tuesday with a chance for snow in the afternoon and evening
We have some sunshine Tuesday morning but it's not going to last all day. By noon the clouds have thickened up and as we go into the afternoon the chance for snow will return. Locally the best chance for snow looks like from 2-6 PM. But in any given location it's probably only going to snow for two hours or so.
As temperatures warm into the mid 30s during the afternoon hours, some of the snow may mix and switch with a little bit of rain at times. No big snow totals are expected but a dusting or a few tenths might be possible in southern areas and some northern counties could see a half inch or so of wet, packable snow.
The next chance for snow after Tuesday was looking like Wednesday evening into Thursday, but that storm system has now trended farther south and could completely miss us. Unless it shifts back north, expect a few dry days for the middle of the week.
In addition to the snow chance, the wind will be whipping on Tuesday. Gusts could reach 40 mph at times bringing in the back to average temps. The breeze will continue Wednesday but shifts back to the NW. A SW wind returns on Thursday and stays fairly light.
