Whitefish Bay's Brunner, Franklin's Burkett among 21 Badgers signees
WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- On National Signing Day, Wisconsin added 21 new players, including a few kids from the Badger state.
Whitefish Bay offensive lineman Joe Brunner is a four-star recruit and the top rated player in Wisconsin and the Badgers top recruit. Franklin quarterback Myles Burkett is the Gatorade and Associated Press player of the year after leading Franklin to 14-0 record and a state title.
Putting ink to paper has been a long time coming.
"I dreamed of it ever since I was a little kid and I watched college football," said Brunner. "To get to have this experience is pretty awesome. I'll remember it for the rest of my life for sure."
"It's been an exciting day for me and my family," said Burkett. "A lot of people that put a lot into me. This is kinda a celebration of everybody's hard work. I'm just really excited and I'm looking forward to the next step."
Burkett plans to enroll early at Wisconsin. Brunner will finish out his senior year at Whitefish Bay before joining his brother Tommy, who is currently a sophomore defensive end with the Badgers.
