Whitefish Bay home burglarized while owners were at funeral

Jesse James Bullis and Emily Gabel have been charged as party to a crime of burglary of a Whitefish Bay home. The owner of the home was at his mother-in-law's funeral when the burglary happened. Jewelry and other items were taken from the home.

Muskego police recovered jewelry, electronics, and a handwritten \"funeral log.\" The log had names and addresses and times of various funerals in Milwaukee County.

Emily Gabel told police she and Bullis didn't commit the burglaries, but Jeremy Pinter and Kraig Hardt and their spouses committed the burglaries. Gabel said she allowed them to use their car and gave them material support.

Bullis, according to Gabel, sold the stolen items for Hardt and Pinter.

Gabel told police she had lost their child while she was pregnant, and Bullis had fallen back into a cocaine habit.

Hardt came up with the idea after his wife's uncle's funeral, according to the criminal complaint.
