SLINGER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Schleisingerville to Slinger. What's in a name? A lot at least for me.

I knew I had to do this story after two random people, all in one week, suggested I do some research and report on how the Village of Slinger in Washington County got its name from Baruch Schleisinger Weil, a French native. He settled in the area in the mid-1840 right before Wisconsin become a state. And the rest, like they say, is history. By the way, the spelling is almost identical to mine except he has an extra "i" in his last name.
