West Bend Woman Arrested After Leaving 6-Year-Old Unsupervised During Overnight Work Shifts

WEST BEND - A 22-year-old woman has been arrested for child neglect after leaving her 6-year-old daughter unsupervised at home. Police responded to the 500 Block of North 18th Avenue in West Bend shortly before 11 p.m. last night. An area resident reported that a 6-year-old girl had been left alone in her home for several hours and the parent could not be located.

Investigating officers identified the girl's mother and located her at her job. Officers learned that the 22-year-old woman worked third shift and had left the child home alone unsupervised on several occasions.

The woman was arrested for Child Neglect and her daughter was turned over to a grandparent.
