West Bend Police: Woman Arrested for OWI After Stealing From Walmart With Her 13-Year-Old Passenger

WEST BEND - The West Bend Police Department responded to the Walmart on Paradise Drive Friday evening to investigate two female subjects who ran from the store with stolen merchandise. 

The females entered a vehicle in the parking lot and drove away before officers arrived.

Investigating officers obtained a description of the vehicle and a plate number. A short time later, A Washington County Sheriff's Deputy located and stopped the vehicle in Kewaskum.

During the investigation, officers observed signs the driver was under the influence of drugs.

The 46-year-old Kewaskum woman failed the standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for OWI - Restricted Controlled Substances with a passenger under 16-year-old age and retail theft. Officers took a 13-year-old Kewaskum female passenger into custody for Retail Theft.

The property stolen from Walmart was recovered from the vehicle.
