West Bend man arrested after running from crash scene and refusing to leave house

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Just after 11 a.m. on Valentine's Day, West Bend Police Officers were sent to a car crash at the intersection of 7th Avenue and Walnut Street. 

Before officers arrived, a 31-year-old West Bend man ran from the scene on foot. 

An officer saw the man go into a house on 7th Avenue and then refused to answer the door or his phone. The man had a warrant out for his arrest from Illinois for violating his parole with caution to consider him armed and dangerous. 

After numerous attempts to get the man to exit the house, West Bend Police entered the house and found the man hiding in the basement. He was arrested for hit-and-run and obstructing. 

No one was injured during the incident.
