West Allis Police to visit block parties as part of 'National Night Out' celebrations

Officers with the West Allis Police Department will be visiting more than 30 block parties throughout West Allis as part of National Night Out Celebrations.

Families in West Allis showed up in big numbers at the local farmer's market on Monday evening. There was inflatable slides, police and fire department vehicles on display, music, carnival games, and even a dunk tank!

"There's a lot more people than last year. My kids come, one lives in West Allis, one lives in Milwaukee. They all come every year, and they enjoy it," said West Allis resident Sandy Lackershire.

National Night Out was created to bring police and the people they serve closer together to create neighborhood camaraderie.
