WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The West Allis Police Department held their recognition awards ceremony on Thursday evening.
The ceremony helps recognize officers, detectives, and citizens who have done outstanding things within the community.
Officer Daniel Foy received an award for saving a life -- he had just started a shift when he got a call for a car crash. When Officer Foy got to the scene, he realized the driver wasn't breathing.
"Just two weeks prior to that, we just started getting AEDs into some of the squad cars and one of the officers just so happened to have one. We hit the button and it shocked him, and it kind of got the heart going back again for him," said Officer Foy.
CBS 58's Amanda Porterfield emceed the award ceremony.
