WAUKESHA COUNTY (CBS 58) – Pewaukee is hosting Eisenhower in a game that could go a long way to deciding the Woodland West.
The Pirates are fourth in this week’s WISSports rankings, just two spots ahead of the sixth ranked Lions.
Coming off a trip to the state semi-finals, they’re hungry for a trip to state. While that’s a long ways away, but to make any playoff push, the Pirates will follow the example of their senior leader, Seth Bickett who has started every single varsity game since his freshman year.
“He’s the ultimate example for us. I think a kid who has been really invested whole-heartedly since day one, giving everything he’s had and playing his heart out every single game, what else can you ask for from a kid? He’s a consummate leader, he’s the hardest worker in the weight room, hardest worker on the field. He watches the most film, I mean, if anyone wants to know how to be successful, all they need to do is look at him and they’ll have a great blueprint,” says Justin Friske, Pewaukee Head Coach.
“It’s not just been four years for me, it’s nine now. I mean, a bunch of us have all played together since we were in fourth grade and one last go around at this, it’s just everything to me,” says RB/DL Bickett.
The CBS 58 tailgate continues with a look at the Lions before hitting the field for the CBS 58 Tailgate Game of the Week on Friday.
