WAUKESHA COUNTY (CBS 58) -- Revenge is on Eisenhower’s mind as they gear up for Friday’s CBS 58 Game of the Week against Pewaukee.
The Lions lost by two against their conference rivals last season. A stacked senior class won’t forget that game.
Eisenhower has seniors in all but five starting positions. That leadership is always crucial in any kind of high school sport, but especially with a rematch so early in the season. Seniors could be the difference.
“We have so many tough games here early in the season, that the rhythm feels a little different this year. Having to get into a game like this already, this fast, before school even starts, so yeah, having some experience and leadership is huge when you’re facing something like that,” says Head Coach Matt Kern.
“Everyone looks up to us and the seniors, we show them, like the young kids like the juniors and sophomores that are coming up what it takes to work hard and play on a varsity level,” says Eisenhower senior RB/LB Jake Belongia.
Tune in Friday at 10 for coverage of the Lions’ game against the Pirates and highlights of some other games around the area.
