Wednesday marks deadline for Interim Sheriff applications to be accepted

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – For those wanting to apply to become Milwaukee County’s Interim Sheriff, Wednesday evening at 5:00 is the deadline.

The Governor’s Office is not giving any information on the number of applications it has received so far.

Acting Sheriff Richard Schmidt confirmed on Friday that he applied for the position. Once appointed, the Interim Sheriff will serve the remainder of former Sheriff David Clarke’s term which is until 2019.
