MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --Scammers are taking to social media to try and rob people of their money by enticing them with a promise to pay their We Energies bill.
The social media post tells customers they will pay your We Energies bill in full and all you have to do is pay them part of the balance up front.
We Energies says this cam has hit social media in the past and recently it resurfaced.
A We Energies spokesperson says they never offer any deals like that online.
If you see a post like it online, We Energies wants you to call them and let them know.
“It’s great for us to know. Let us know what’s going on so that we can look into it, but these offers are too good to be true. Which means they are not true. Do not fall for these scams,” We Energies spokesperson Amy Jahns said.
If you need help paying your We Energies bill, you're asked to reach out to them for options that may be available at 800-242-9137.
