Wauwatosa Whole Foods Opens In Phase 2 Of Mayfair Collection

Whole Foods in Wauwatosa opened their doors at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning. 

It is the anchor store for phase 2 of the Mayfair collection. 

The company was able to design the store around the needs of the Wauwatosa community.

They are priding themselves on finding hyper local ingredients.

The store also has a full-scale bar called the Tosa Tavern.

This is the third Whole Foods location in the state of Wisconsin. 

The developer of the Mayfair Collection says it was important to get Whole Foods in as an anchor tenant.

"We think they are going to be the springboard to yet future phases primarily with residential. We are anticipating maybe 1000 apartment units over the next 5 to 10 years,"said Time Blum, HSA Commercial Real Estate Executive VP and managing general partner.

Groundbreaking for that apartment community could begin as soon as this summer but it still needs to be approved by the city. 

Meanwhile, home goods just two stores down will open in April.

And Kohl's Off Aisle store will open next month.
