WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wauwatosa has enacted a city-wide curfew beginning at 9 p.m. on Saturday night, May 30.

The curfew will end at 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 31. The same curfew will also be in effect Sunday night through the morning of Monday, June 1.

Wauwatosa Police Department said in a post, "For the safety of our community, we ask for cooperation and compliance from all."

The enacted curfew comes after violence broke out in Milwaukee on Friday night, May 29 following peaceful protests in support of George Floyd -- a man who died in police custody in Minneapolis.

Milwaukee and Glendale enforced similar orders.
