Waukesha Police arrest suspect in August 14 fatal shooting; suspect in ICU

Waukesha Police Department arrested on September 2 a suspect in the fatal shooting of Kevin Hueman. 
On Friday, August 14, 2015 at 8:13 PM, squads responded to assist the Waukesha Fire Department with a subject in the 200 block of Albert Street. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the 40 year-old victim had sustained an apparent gunshot wounds.  He was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital where he later died.
\"We used every resource available to identify and arrest the suspect in this case. Investigators at the Waukesha Police Department developed a suspect for the homicide,\" said Chief Russell P. Jack, Waukesha Police Department.
Waukesha Police Department Tactical Unit, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s K9 Unit and Waukesha County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant on around 5:20 PM in the 700 block of East St Paul Avenue.  
After officers arrived on scene and secured a perimeter, numerous verbal attempts were made to gain the attention of the suspect inside the residence. The suspect refused to respond to the numerous verbal requests by officers.  Less lethal rounds were deployed to gain the suspect’s attention, but were not fired at him.  The 35 year-old male suspect was eventually observed to be in the apartment.   From outside of the apartment, officers observed the suspect harm himself by use of an edged weapon.  The suspect cut his own wrist, and the officers observed the suspect cut his own throat.
He was transported to Froedtert Hospital for medical care.  The suspect was intubated and is in the Intensive Care Unit.
