Waukesha Fire Department investigates second Labor Day weekend fire

Waukesha Fire and Police Departments were dispatched to 337 Arlington for a reported structure fire at 1:31 AM on Labor Day. 
First arriving units found a multi-family with active fire in the attic, outside rear of the structure and people evacuating. Everyone inside the building was able to evacuate without assistance. The fire was brought under control after extensive effort from Waukesha Fire Department personnel as well as an engine from Pewaukee Fire Department. There were no injuries reported. Five families have been displaced and were able to find assistance from neighbors and the Red Cross. 
Losses are estimated in excess of $100,000.
WPD officers found a garbage can on fire at a nearby residence at the same time of this incident. There was no extension into any structures. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and are considered suspicious in nature.
