Waukesha County to replace 911 system

Waukesha County Communications is replacing their countywide 911 system on Wednesday. WCC has been using the same system for the last 10 years and is upgrading its technology. WCC officials say the new system will "provide continued high-level service and enhancement to some of the current capabilities for its customers."

The transfer process begins at 8 a.m. Residents will still be able to use 911 for emergency purposes, but can also use (262) 446-5090 as an emergency number. WCC has also established a backup number, (262) 446-5064, that will be active between 8 a.m. and noon on Wednesday in case residents experience any problems dialing 911. WCC plans to have additional staff on hand to help out with the process.
