Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office warns residents of phone scam

WAUKESHA COUNTY (CBS 58) – The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam.
The department says residents are getting calls from people claiming to be from Microsoft, saying their computers have been taken over by foreign entities and need to be repaired.
According to the sheriff’s office, Microsoft would never make unsolicited phone calls about a computer’s security or software fixes.
Authorities say if you receive a similar call, hang up the phone.
