Authorities say the man remains in custody pending criminal charges. This comes after the man's attorney said on Wednesday he did not know his client's location.
On Friday, we spoke with Nathan Halfmann's attorney over the phone.
“I was able to speak to him by phone today yes from the hospital," said Russell Jones, Halfmann's attorney.
Jones says the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department organized the phone call with his client but he hasn't seen him in person yet.
The female suspect, Kalin Sunde, has been charged in connection to the crime.
