Waukesha Co. Parks System starts second phase of project to improve Retzer Nature Center

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Parks System has started the second phase of the Discovery Trail Project.

The project is revitalizing and expanding accessibility of the paved trail at Retzer Nature Center.

It is being completed in multiple phases.

The second phase of the project began this week, and it will add a gateway feature to the entrance and create a series of ‘Exploration Stations’ along the trail for outdoor education, sensory-based play experiences, and STEM activities.

The trail will also include an area for outdoor classes and events to immerse attendees of all abilities in nature.

This phase is expected to be completed mid-autumn.

The Park System has launched an online donation campaign.

More information about the project is available here.

Future phases will continue to add additional ‘Exploration Stations’ along the trail.
