Warm temps and a bit of humidity return for the weekend
The fog and low clouds have finally dissipated this morning with cumulus clouds filling in some of the clear sky. We'll continue to see a mix of sun and clouds for the remainder of the day with high temps topping out in the upper 60s to low 70s.
Although we'll say goodbye to September and hello to October this weekend, it will feel more like summer. Temps rise into the upper 70s on Saturday with plenty of sunshine and continue to warm into the low 80s on Sunday. Low 80s will likely stick around for the first half of next week as well.
Not only will temps warm well above normal, humidity will become noticeable as well with dew points climbing into the low to mid 60s. Definitely skip the flannel and jeans if you're doing fall activities this weekend.
Overall this stretch of warm weather will be accompanied by mainly dry conditions. Showers and storms will remain in the northern half of the state throughout the weekend. Although the chance is low, we can't rule out a couple of showers or storms sneaking into counties closer to the Fox Valley Saturday night into Sunday morning.
This could be our last hurrah for the 80s. Today marks the average date we experience our last 80° day for the year.
While we'll have a few days in the 80s early next week, it'll be about 25° colder by next weekend. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App for the full forecast.
