Walmart security guard allegedly shot at shoplifter

FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Walmart security guard in Franklin shot at a man for shoplifting.

It happened just days after that man was arrested for robbery.

Police say Louis McKenzie put items in a shopping cart and left without paying.

A security guard confronted McKenzie in the parking lot.

Police say the employee fired their gun when McKenzie jumped in a car and sped off.

Officers identified McKenzie through surveillance video.

Why wasn’t the security guard charged with reckless endangerment? It doesn’t say anything in the article about the shoplifter engaging in behavior that was putting others at significant risk.
