DELAFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Delafield 7th grader could have her artwork shown on a worldwide stage: Google's homepage.
Ella Hannes says she was shocked when her doodle was named a finalist to represent Wisconsin in the 6th-7th-grade group. Google employees surprised Ella at her school to give her the news.
Her artwork shows Google assembled through puzzle pieces with the words, "We All Fit." Ella says her drawing represents the importance of diversity and hopes her work can inspire her classmates to come together and embrace their differences.
"I think 'We All Fit' is a really important message because a lot of people try to fit into what's popular or what everybody else is doing, but it's important to find a place where you yourself belong," Hannes said.
Ella can become a national finalist if you vote for her by June 7. The national winner will get a $30,000 scholarship and their school gets a $50,000 grant.
