Volunteers Stuff 5,000 Backpacks with Supplies

Volunteers at the MLK Community Center are helping to get hundreds of kids ready to go back to school with everything they need.

Volunteers filled 5,000 backpacks with school supplies for the upcoming King Back-to-School Festival. The event helps to take the burden off of parents who may not have the means to give their kids everything they need and helps the boys and girls go off to school ready and prepared for the year ahead.

The annual back to school festival is happening this Saturday at 11:30 at the MLK Community Center on Vliet Street.
