Volunteers pack thousands of meals for kids in need at Fox River Christian Church
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- At the Fox River Christian Church in Waukesha on Saturday, Sept. 5, hundreds of thousands of meals were packed by hundreds of volunteers all to help children in need.
The church partnered with the nonprofit "Kids Around the World" to donate 267,000 meals that will be shipped around the world.
The meals are designed to provide nutritious food for children in communities facing food insecurity.
But as the lead pastor of the church explained, it's also about putting your faith into action.
"Some of the biggest challenges when it comes to faith is that you get to hear a lot of information but putting your faith into action that can be a challenge. So this is one of those things that's super valuable," said Pastor Bill.
Fox River Christian Church raised $80,000 to fund the meals.
Since partnering with "Kids Around the World" four years ago, volunteers have packed 800,000 meals.
