MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It might not feel like it outside, but fall is here to stay, and that's why people in Walker's Point came together Sunday, Oct. 4 to do a bit of seasonal cleaning.

The event was hosted by the Walker's Point Association, who handed out buckets and trash grabbers to volunteers gathered at Zócalo Food Truck Park.

CBS 58 spoke with Dylan Shanahan, the president of the Walker's Point Association, who says these bi-annual cleanups are about more than just keeping the streets free of garbage.

"You know it's one of those things where it's like, 'Do you even have to ask?' It's part of being a community member. You know it gives people ownership; it gives people a place, a sense of belonging and a way to connect with their neighbors," said Shanahan.

Sunday's cleanup was the second one of the year. If you're interested in getting involved in the future, Walker's Point Association will host another cleanup event in mid-spring.

But you can always clean up the world around you, year-round.
