MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Four veterans were recognized for their service on Wednesday, Nov. 5, by getting a quilt.
They each received one as a thank you for their service to this country at an event held in Milwaukee.
Volunteer quilters sew the blankets together and then send them out as tokens of appreciation for veterans.
It's part of the Quilts of Valor program, a national charity that gives them another chance to be thanked for a lifetime of service and sacrifice.
"It does not matter if they were enlisted or if they were drafted. They are all equal in their service, and that they're all equal in the gratitude that we give them," said Bonni Camp, volunteer quilter.
The quilters that make the donations are all over the United States, including Wisconsin.
