MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Several Boys and Girls Clubs came together for an event called 'Voice Over Violence.'
Children were encouraged to write speeches, poems, and songs about ending gun violence.
"The reason we are here today is because our voices need to be strong in our community, and our young people need to have a platform where they can speak out and speak out about the issues that affect us every single day," one attendee said.
At least 100 youth were in attendance for Thursday's event.
