MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Local organizations are getting ready for an influx of migrants to Wisconsin.
Voces de la Frontera tells us they have teamed up with more than 20 other organizations, including various religious groups and the Hunger Task Force.
This is to give arriving migrants an easier way to find the resources they need, including housing, food and especially legal services -- something crucial to their ability to stay in the country.
"They have 60 days to really tell immigration, 'I'm here,' to report to immigration. And if you miss that deadline, it's going to be an uphill battle for any kind of asylum claim," said Primitivo Torres Martinez, deputy director of civic engagement at Voces de la Frontera.
Voces also says they've set up a court accompaniment group, which takes people to their check-ins with U.S. immigration and customs enforcement and their first immigration court case in Chicago.
