Vietnam Veteran's special transportation cart for fallen soldiers

A Vietnam Veteran is making sure fallen soldiers have a dignified trip home through Mitchell International Airport to their final resting place.

Veteran Richard Kalashian designed a special cart to help transport the remains of the service people who made the ultimate sacrifice.

It is emblazoned with the colors of the American flag and other patriotic symbols, plus the insignia of every branch of the military.

He presented his design Tuesday morning to Southwest Airlines which said it was honored to be part of his vision and to bring dignity and respect to this saddest of assignments.

\"Totally bittersweet,\" said Doug Rutledge the Southwest Airlines Station Manager. \"But I think it's one way of showing our gratitude and our thanks for our service men and women and their families.\"

The transportation cart is for all fallen soldiers on all airlines at Mitchell International Airport.
