MILWAUKEE (AP/CBS 58) — Vice President Mike Pence is coming to Milwaukee on Thursday to raise money for U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir.
Her race against Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin is one of the most expensive and closely watched in the country.
President Donald Trump endorsed Vukmir after her primary win two weeks ago. The Pence visit comes amid a swing of Midwest states he's making this week to raise money for Republican candidates.
Republican Gov. Scott Walker, who faces Democrat Tony Evers, is also slated to attend the Pence fundraiser.
Both Walker and Vukmir are in tight races based on a pair of polls taken since the primary.
Pence will be flying to Minneapolis in the morning to deliver a keynote at the American Legion's 100th National Convention. He will then travel to Milwaukee and is slated to arrive in Air Force Two around 4:05 p.m.
