MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- When it comes to how often to vaccinate your pet, recommendations have changed over the years.
Vets say it's critical to be cautious and not over vaccinate.
The American Animal Hospital Association changed their core vaccine recommendation for adult pets a few years ago, lowering it from once a year to every three years. It's because they found the antibodies in the vaccines are lasting longer than they first thought.
If you're worried about your pet, a blood test can be done to see which vaccine your pet needs.
